Tier IV Emissions
The Heat is On.
New lower-emission Tier IV engines will have significant impact on all future generations of off-road machines. In order to meet the required emission regulations, a number of engine characteristics will be affected. For starters, engine application operating speeds and speed bands will be reduced. Engine power levels and torque will change. Along with all this, there will be greater system heat rejection. With the advent of new EGR systems in place, new Tier IV engines will require additional cooling. New requirements for Tier IV engine radiators are predicted up to 60% greater than Tier III due to new EGR systems that will be in place.
